For partners
This page is for travel brands, affiliate networks and their reviewers who want to know what Optitrips is and where an offer would appear.
What Optitrips is
Optitrips is an Android app for planning road trips across Europe. It covers the parts of a long drive that navigation apps leave out: the best time to leave, the real toll cost and a toll-free alternative, splitting the trip into days, rest and meal stops, where to sleep each night, cheaper fuel along the route, weather and official warnings on the way, and a Companion mode that keeps watch while you drive. It is available in seven languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Catalan and Portuguese.
Status: the app is in a closed beta on Google Play and is not yet publicly listed. We do not publish user or traffic figures on this page; ask us for current numbers.
Audience
- Drivers planning long trips by car across European countries, often over several days.
- Families travelling with children or pets, who set those preferences in their profile.
- Motorhome and camper van travellers, with a dedicated vehicle profile (dimensions, AdBlue, pace, rest days).
The intent is high: a user sees an offer for a specific place and a specific date that is already part of a trip they are planning.
Where partner offers appear
“Book this night”
Each night of a multi-day trip has a booking button with the overnight place and the check-in and check-out dates already filled in, plus the number of adults from the traveller profile. It opens the hotel the user picked, or a search around the place where that driving day really ends.
Hotel booking panel
For a chosen hotel, “Book on…” lists several booking sites (today Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda and Vrbo, through Stay22) with the hotel name, dates and guests prefilled, and a note that prices may differ between sites.
Things to do at the destination
On the destination, a “Things to do” sheet shows priced activity cards for the city (today from Viator’s Partner API), with a link to search more on GetYourGuide.
Companion hotel nudge
During a drive, when it is time to think about where to sleep, Companion suggests a hotel near the evening stop. The user adjusts nights, adults and rooms and continues to the booking site. The nudge is quiet: no sound and no animation.
The booking panel, the things-to-do sheet and the Companion nudge carry a short disclosure that these are partner links. Our rankings of hotels and stops do not depend on commissions; see the affiliate disclosure.
How traffic is tracked
- Every link uses the partner’s own tracking: our affiliate identifier, plus a campaign or sub-ID label that names the placement (for example the night button, the hotel detail, or the Companion nudge), so each placement can be measured separately.
- For API partners, the tracked URL returned by the API is used exactly as returned.
- Links open in a browser tab inside the app (a Custom Tab tied to the browser, or an in-app web view), never handed over to the partner’s native app, so the partner’s normal web attribution applies.
- Links carry no personal data: only the place, dates, number of guests and the tracking parameters. See our privacy policy.
What we can add
Placements are built around a trip that already has places and dates, so we can pass those to a deep link or an API. If you have a programme for hotels, campsites, motorhome rental, car hire, ferries, parking or activities in Europe, we would like to hear from you.
