Affiliate disclosure

The short version

Some buttons in the Optitrips app open a partner’s website, for example to book the hotel for a night of your trip or an activity at your destination. These are affiliate links: if you book through one of them, the partner may pay us a commission. You pay the same price as if you had gone to the partner’s site directly; the commission comes out of the partner’s margin, not your pocket. These commissions help pay for the app.

Which partners

The links to TheFork (restaurants) and Google Maps are plain links: they carry no affiliate code and earn us nothing. The articles on this website contain no affiliate links.

Where you see partner links in the app

The things-to-do sheet, the booking panel and the Companion hotel suggestion carry a short notice that these are partner links.

Commissions do not decide what we show

No partner pays us to appear, and commissions are not an input to any of our rankings:

Two things are outside our control, and we want to be clear about them. In “Things to do”, the activities appear in the order Viator returns them for that city. When “Book this night” opens a Stay22 search (no hotel picked), Stay22 chooses which booking site and which stays to show. The booking panel always lists the same sites in the same order.

What travels in a partner link

Only what the partner needs to show you a useful page: the hotel name (if you picked one), the coordinates of the hotel or of the overnight area (never your GPS position), the dates, the number of adults, the city for activities, our affiliate identifier and a label naming the app screen the link came from. Never your name, email or account. The details are in our privacy policy.
